Before purchase

  • Confirm exact-unit or representative photos
  • Verify size, type, grade, SKU, container ID, and price
  • Request current documentation if cargo use matters
  • Ask about odors, spills, chemical history, repairs, and modifications
  • Read photo, warranty, and return disclosures

Exterior

  • Corner posts and castings
  • Top and bottom rails
  • Roofline and standing-water areas
  • Side and end walls: patches, holes, severe deformation
  • Door frame alignment
  • Underside and crossmembers where visible
  • Active corrosion versus surface rust

Interior

  • Daylight / light-leak check with doors closed
  • Floor softness, delamination, holes, contamination, odor
  • Condensation or water staining
  • Interior repairs and sharp edges
  • Vent condition

Doors

  • Both doors open and close through full travel
  • Locking rods and cams engage
  • Gaskets are continuous and serviceable
  • Lockbox condition

Documents and delivery

  • Container ID / plate matches paperwork
  • Condition noted on the delivery receipt
  • Photos taken before and after placement
  • Damage reported within the policy deadline
